Oh happy day! I got a very encouraging email today and danced around my living room. Res-Q-Pets is willing to help me find homes for the kittens!!!

They have asked me to foster them for a short time, just until they are a little more comfortable with human contact (still a little skittish). Once they are feeling more secure around people, they will be taken to PetSmart on Saturdays and Sundays until they are adopted. Res-Q-Pets will pay for their medical care (FIV and feline leukemia testing, plus rabies and distemper vaccines and eventually spay/neuter) as long as I transport them to the vet.

I don't have a problem fostering them until they are more socialized. I have already made a lot of progress and I don't think it will take more than a couple weeks until they are ready for adoption, maybe less.

I feel really good about this. And you know what else? I could do this again. Once these kittens are gone, I think I'm going to make myself available to Res-Q-Pets for future fostering. Even strays deserve a second chance.
