Now. For those of you who have actually seen my house, you'll see that while there might not be a shortage of ideas, there is definitely a shortage of manpower. Much of our house remains in the condition it was in when we bought it, over a year ago. Come home, Theseus!! Seriously, when he gets back, this place will be awesome. You'll see.
This is the closest thing I've found:
But I'm not crazy about it, you know? I just like it. Is that good enough?
Other assorted things I like but struggle to bring together:
- stripes: generally vertical, varying sizes/colors, maybe only on a single wall, maybe on the ceiling
- letters: large letters spelling his name on the wall
- Chinese lanterns: various sizes, at different heights, maybe different colors (to complement the color scheme), hanging from the ceiling
- wall mural: one-of-a-kind but simple design I could replicate myself without too much difficulty
- a tree: surprisingly popular in nurseries, but can be really cool
On paper, I still have about 4 months to decide, but I really don't have a lot of time if you think about it: Thanksgiving is in 2 weeks, so November is pretty much through. Then December will be filled with Christmas (and making the trip back to MA = no painting/decorating). January is mostly filled with my inter-session course (4th-14th) and the spring semester starts on the 21st. The first half of the semester will be the most difficult, because two of my classes are 7-week courses (15 weeks of info jammed into 7 weeks of class time); the end of the 7-week courses is March 17. Baby is due March 22.
Ugh. :(
