Hello! Happy Wednesday!

Not away in real life, but away from this blog (but you already knew that). I did try to post something yesterday, but Weebly (my blog host) wasn't working and I couldn't log in. Before that I was working on a mini-journal post of my first week without shampoo, but then it got too boring so I scrapped it.

The cliff-notes version of my shampoo-less week: awesome. It's now been 11 days without shampoo; I'm never going back!

What else did I do?

School was canceled because of the snow, but I felt guilty just sitting in here doing nothing. I roamed around the house until about 9:30, then bundled up and shoveled a path to my car. My neighbor came over from next door and helped me out again, and, like the last time, another neighbor down the street came and snow-blowed the plow bank at the end of my driveway. I think I'm going to add a couple extra plants to the garden, so I can give proper thanks to my neighbors in the summer.

Today I did pretty much nothing - it was great! Well, I made a fruit salad for breakfast and had some tea, read some of The Omnivore's Dilemma and watched the snow fall, so I did complete a few items from my list for this weekend. So I win.

I braved the 3-inch "storm" and checked the mail in the afternoon - my new Algebra book came, and so did our seeds! And so did the gas bill. But I'm excited the seeds came! Now I guess I have to get serious about buying the planting supplies. Oh but the gardening store is closed on Sundays! So I get to be lazy for another day. :)

Not a bad weekend so far.

I survived the first leg of my 10-day class! It has actually been shortened to a 9-day class; our professor clearly didn't want to have to come in on Saturday, but then he acted like it was our idea to cut Saturday from the course.

Anway. He squashed part of Saturday's chapters into today, and will squash the other chapters into Monday. So I get two day off. Whatever will I do with all my free time?

I finally ordered The Omnivore's Dilemma by the brilliant Michael Pollan. I've read some of his essays and loved them; I hope this book is just as amazing!

Earlier today I started a post about my adventures with J and Mer at the dusk of 2010/dawn of 2011... but then I got distracted by chocolate and now I'm tired and think I will take my new book and a cup of tea to bed. I'll finish and publish it tomorrow. Good night!

Next week is finals week.

Then back to MA for Christmas.

Then [insert something fun but so far undertermined] for the New Year.

My mini-course goes from Jan 4-14.

My other 4 classes start on the 21st.

The next 46 days are going to be intense. I apologize ahead of time if I'm neglectful in my blogging. :(

Here was my list for today (Tuesday):

- wash all my vacation laundry CHECK
- dishes CHECK
- sweep out my bathroom
- wrap presents, hide (from cats) in spare bedroom closet
- finalize Christmas shopping HALF-CHECK
- get a package off to Theseus CHECK
- homework CHECK

Ok, so 4.5 out of 7 isn't bad (it's kind of bad). At least I did stuff.

I was going to sleep in, but turns out I have to take Mushroom to the vet for 10:00. But this is good - after tomorrow he'll be ready to go to PetSmart. Hopefully they'll have a cage for him before the holiday; we had such luck with Marshmallow - he was adopted just one week after I dropped him off. And I'm sure Mushroom will be adopted just as quickly.

I got a lot done today, I think.
