Soup again? Ok, sounds good.

Wegmans Tomato Basil with Orzo Soup is the best!!

I should also think about packing, too, I guess.

I think we might need to break up. It's like you don't even know me.

We're supposed to get a decent amount of snow tomorrow (somewhere between 5 and 10 inches; not very precise, I know) so school is canceled. My 10-day class has now turned into an 8-day class. So since I'll have a break from jamming mitosis/meiosis/signal transduction/transcription/translation into my brain, my goal for the day is to organize the abyss that is Theseus' closet.

So if you don't hear from me for a couple days, it's because I was eaten by an unknown beast living in there. Or possibly I wandered in too far and got lost among the guitars neither of us know how to play, high school basketball t-shirts, power tools (whyyyyyyy are they in the closet???) and jeans that no longer fit. Or I fell into another dimension and am trapped in a parallel universe. Maybe Theseus will have a clean closet in this other universe? If that's where I am, I won't be coming back.

If 4 cats = 42 lbs

And baby = 20 lbs

Then 4 cats + baby + my lap = NO!

There is no room for all of you in my lap!

Today I did pretty much nothing - it was great! Well, I made a fruit salad for breakfast and had some tea, read some of The Omnivore's Dilemma and watched the snow fall, so I did complete a few items from my list for this weekend. So I win.

I braved the 3-inch "storm" and checked the mail in the afternoon - my new Algebra book came, and so did our seeds! And so did the gas bill. But I'm excited the seeds came! Now I guess I have to get serious about buying the planting supplies. Oh but the gardening store is closed on Sundays! So I get to be lazy for another day. :)

Not a bad weekend so far.

I survived the first leg of my 10-day class! It has actually been shortened to a 9-day class; our professor clearly didn't want to have to come in on Saturday, but then he acted like it was our idea to cut Saturday from the course.

Anway. He squashed part of Saturday's chapters into today, and will squash the other chapters into Monday. So I get two day off. Whatever will I do with all my free time?

It's 7:30 and I'm exhausted, so this will be short (sorry!) but I wanted to let you all know my class hasn't killed me yet. It has been trying, though.

Today was the 3rd day of class - we finished chapter 9. 175 pages in 3 days! We also had our first exam today, covering the first 6 chapters. I don't want to be all braggy, but I think I knocked it out of the park. :)

But. I can almost feel the grey hairs growing as a result of this class.

Baby has had enough of it, too. Today he showed his displeasure by Riverdancing throughout the entire four and a half hours. :/

Ahhhhgggggggghhhhh.

This 10-day class might be the death of me. Imagine being punched in the brain for 4 and a half hours.

I hope tomorrow is better. :(

So as you know, I'm back from New York - what a fun (extended) weekend!

I drove to J and Mer's house on Thursday. The trip north took about 2 hours, which wasn't bad. The last leg of the trip took me through a breathtaking stretch of snowdusted mountains. The ride was very easy; I arrived at their house just after 1 p.m.

I finally ordered The Omnivore's Dilemma by the brilliant Michael Pollan. I've read some of his essays and loved them; I hope this book is just as amazing!

Earlier today I started a post about my adventures with J and Mer at the dusk of 2010/dawn of 2011... but then I got distracted by chocolate and now I'm tired and think I will take my new book and a cup of tea to bed. I'll finish and publish it tomorrow. Good night!
