Yikes, this blog is pretty dusty. Sorry I have been away so long - the weeks leading up to Christmas were hectic as we tried to split and stack wood for our fireplace, rake and get the garden ready for the winter (still not done...). Oh and shopping, selling textbooks on Amazon and preparing for the trek to the icy North.

Now we're back in Nj recovering from the excursion... fire burning in the living room, the History Channel on tv, feet up on the couch. Theseus made breakfast quesadillas for dinner (yum!) and then we gave the baby a bath. He has a new bath toy from my grandmother - a whale that floats around and spouts up water - and he really enjoyed it. He's sleeping now... it's nice to be home.

We are not out of the woods yet, but we are getting there. Today I cleared another hurdle. Theseus has been clearing hurdles of his own as well. Continue to keep your fingers crossed for us, please.

Somewhat related: poison ivy is no longer itchy/terrible, now just a small group of discolored blotches on my forearm. Unless you are looking closely, you might not even notice them. Hopefully they will vanish completely in the coming week - we have a wedding to go to next weekend! (Which is also our 5 year anniversary.) I have nothing to wear. Jeans are probably out of the question, right?

Additional, somewhat related: vicious cold is going away, albiet s--l--o--w--l--y. I'm now weaning myself off the NyQuil addiction I developed. (kidding)

I'm leaving for NJ tomorrow morning, but I wanted to leave a little post today to let you all know I haven't dropped off the planet. Once I'm back at the house and settled again, I'll get back in my blogging routine. And with school starting on Sept 1, I'll have whole new things to talk (complain) about. :)

Massachusetts was refreshing this week. I met up with two friends from high school, changed my name at the social security office (finally... nearly 4 years later...), ate vegetarian tacos with T and J, spent a day and a half surrounded by my huge extended family of Nam Knights, got a beautiful new hair cut, watched a Patriots preseason game on tv (can't do that in NJ), smooched my niece, and woke up to the sound of rain.

Last night I had trouble falling asleep, so I flipped through the channels looking for something interesting. I ended up watching Juno, which I've seen about a hundred times, but still makes me laugh so hard (and cry so hard). It really is such a sweet movie. If you haven't seen it, you should.

Well that's it for now. Life will be back to normal after tomorrow, so expect to hear more from me. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I'm home now - I have a load of dishes in the dishwasher, a load of laundry in the dryer. I have another basket full of clothes to wash (how??). I have to vacuum. I have to take the trash out. Both bathrooms are a wreck. I miss Theseus terribly. But it's good to be home.
